At its heart, The Erelim is an epic fantasy series about love and loss, regret and forgiveness, and the power of faith set against impossible odds.
After decades of war, the Melan Empire and its brutal Crash army are on the verge of defeating the Harken Alliance, threatening total conquest. Among the Harken stands Milna Hiku, a soldier who believes her side's best chance for victory rests in finding the last of the Erelim, godlike beings of legend. After learning of a sellsword named Ardel Tol and his incredible exploits, Milna thinks her search may be over. As she'll soon discover, though, the habits of a sellsword die hard, and her hopes alone may not be enough to change the fate of her world.

Book One releases on Amazon on June 25, and is available for pre-order right now on Kindle. Book Two's release date remains to be determined, but I'm tentatively aiming for mid- to late September.

A paperback edition of Book One will release on June 25 alongside its Kindle counterpart. I'm also planning for a dual release of Book Two in Kindle and paperback formats. At this time, I have no plans to publish in hardback format, but if the demand is ever there, my plans may change.

Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't allow readers to pre-order paperback books self-published through their services. Rest assured, though, that a paperback edition will publish and be available for immediate purchase alongside the Kindle edition on June 25.

The Erelim is an epic fantasy, first and foremost, with lots of action and adventure, plus a dash of mystery and romance. All the good stuff, in other words!

Without giving too much away, The Erelim’s world is more akin to contemporary Asian fantasy than traditional Western fantasy. The Erelim's world of Væra is very much its own, though, with power sources, nations, races, and technologies uniquely foreign, both to our own world as well as those featured in most Western fantasy stories.

I grew up on books like The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, as well as Dune, The Stand, and the Icewind Dale Trilogy and its numerous spinoffs. That said, anime has had a huge influence on my writing, too, with unsung classics like The Vision of Escaflowne and Outlaw Star playing a pivotal role in shaping The Erelim's narrative.
Generally speaking, though, I love stories with heart and characters you want to root for, even if their endings are a bit bittersweet. If you've the same tendencies, I think you'll enjoy The Erelim!

The first story of the series will be comprised of two books, with Book Two's tentative release scheduled for mid- to late September. While the story told across these first two books will feature a recognizable beginning, middle, and end, I’m already working on future tales featuring these characters and their world. Who knows? A side-story of sorts may be closer than you think…

The Erelim includes occasional swearing, depictions of fantasy violence, and some relatively tame sexual themes. There are no explicit love scenes, and my personal approach to action and violence is always to paint an accurate picture while also shying away from anything graphic or intentionally disturbing.
